Education-Math

We are jumping down the rabbit hole to complete these pages. Please check back later and often. Contact Bridgette Mongeon if you have educational material you would like us to share.

This Math section really goes hand in hand with the 3D Technology section.

Dodecahedron- free printable

The Dodecahedron is a wonderful shape that teachers and parents can use to help children understand Vertices, faces, and geometry, especially as it compares to the 3D technology that the artist used to create the sculpture. Though the math is done behind the scenes in such things as 3D printing, 3D scanning and 3D sculpting it is math. Also note that Lewis Carroll was a mathematician.

Triangle- free printable. This is good for younger children as it is easier to put together.

For teachers-
Review how Alice got big and small in the stories of Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland and Through The looking Glass.

  • As a precurser, parents might like to purchase Bridgette’s book. The book shows art from all over the world and helps beginners to understand the process of 3D Technology.
  • Visit Bridgette’s Alice You tube channel and watch videos on how Bridgette Mongeon created the sculpture using 3D technology. The Morhping of a March Hare is a good start.  You might also like to look at the You tube about the tea cups.
  • Bridgette spoke about 3D tech and find art at Expanding Your Horizon’s.  This blog post shares some of her resources and suggestions for teaching. For more information look at Bridgette’s Blog post to the Texas Art Educators.
